About The Position

Our portfolio includes leading publications and products such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, Factiva, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, OPIS, and more. We are seeking a motivated Enterprise Application intern who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a technology-related field. You will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that drive key business functions at Dow Jones. This internship provides hands-on, practical experience while contributing to impactful projects that support Dow Jones' business goals.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years toward your bachelor's degree in a technology related field.
  • Experience using a computer software language.
  • Understanding of how database tables can be accessed such as SQL.
  • Analysis of technical requirements.
  • Logical reasoning when constructing code.
  • Strong problem-solving techniques.
  • Creativity in proposed solutions.
  • Conceptual understanding of AI.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive on-the-job training and learn the fundamental aspects of the application's architecture.
  • Apply your growing knowledge to real programming assignments, contributing directly to development projects.
  • Explore and research opportunities to incorporate AI into existing systems, making recommendations for potential enhancements.
  • Attend training sessions with team leaders.
  • Complete independent study of current system documentation and review existing program code.
  • Participate in design meetings with the team.
  • Assist team in troubleshooting application issues.
  • Develop and test application code.
  • Evaluate AI tools applicable to the system.
