Senior Health Services is looking for pharmacy students in their second year to assist with the quality improvement metrics for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Medicare population. Fully remote, full time paid summer internship. Equipment will be provided. Interns are required to work 40 hours per week from mid-May to mid-August the summer between P2 and P3 year. Primary responsibilities include telephonic outreach to patients and providers to support CMS Stars measures such as Medication Adherence and Statin Use in Persons with Diabetes (SUPD). Opportunities to learn about several aspects of Part D insurance and practice in a managed care pharmacy setting. JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepares and delivers presentation(s) on assigned topic(s). Shows learning and both personal and professional growth and understanding of responsibilities. Shows punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude when completing assignments. Manages multiple deadlines. Maintains confidentiality. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries. Assemble member communication letters and articles regarding a variety of health and medication topics. Compose communications directed to prescribers about common prescribing issues. Conduct member education calls to assist with Medicare Part D quality improvement measures. Attend meetings and collaborate with clinical pharmacists and other team members to develop and execute projects. Manage, organize and analyze information databases relative to intern projects. Perform other related duties which may not be specifically listed in the position description, but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work.
