About The Position

Western Digital is seeking a highly qualified Engineering Intern to join our Advanced System Development team. Requirements

• Current BS or MS Student in an Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027
• A tech enthusiast with a burning passion for innovation and problem-solving.
• Excellent communicator, ready to collaborate with a diverse team.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world projects in a meaningful way.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in MATLAB, Python, SQL, Excel, and or other data analysis tools
• Located within driving distance of our Irvine office.
• Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case to employ you.

Responsibilities

• Dive into building new generation of heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) technology.
• Unleash your creativity and technical skills on new designs.
• Collaborate with our top-notch engineering team for new technology development - be part of solving complex puzzles!
• Develop and manage a sophisticated database for collecting and communicating engineering data your work will be crucial for our decision-making process.
