TEAM OVERVIEW: The Training Services Instructional Design (ID) team is a highly collaborative group that partners with global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create impactful learning experiences for Field and Customer Engineers (CEs) around the world. Together, across the U.S., Canada, Taiwan, China, Israel, and beyond, we design instructor‑led, digital, and blended training that helps CEs install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Applied Materials equipment. We value teamwork, integrity, quality, and thoughtful change management as we build learning solutions that support a rapidly evolving business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Coursework or academic exposure to instructional design, learning theory, education, curriculum development, or related fields.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and incorporate feedback.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, using it not only as a presentation tool but to create clear, visually compelling instructional materials.
  • Familiarity or academic exposure to creative or eLearning tools (such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline, or Captivate), with a willingness to learn and practice new software (No prior mastery required).
  • Exposure to or coursework involving video capture and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • AI Prompt engineering and effective use of generative AI tools for learning development.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and processes, applying them in structured workflows and adapting as project needs evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the application of instructional design principles and learning theory by assisting in the creation and refinement of learner‑centered training materials across various formats, including PowerPoint slides, eLearning modules, videos, job aids, and facilitator materials.
  • Collaborates with SMEs and team members to help develop accurate, engaging learning content and activities that contribute to effective knowledge and skill transfer in both classroom and online environments.
  • Assists in creating task‑based assessments and learning checks that align with identified learning objectives and support the goals of the curriculum.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail when drafting, reviewing, and formatting training materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Supports project coordination by organizing tasks, tracking assigned work, following established processes, and communicating progress to help ensure deliverables are completed within the agreed timeframe.
