About The Position

Invest in Your Future and Ours Summer 2026 Finance Internship Program- Financial Planning. The NewYork-Presbyterian Finance Summer Intern Program educates undergraduate students on the overall financial operations of a hospital. The program is designed for those who are interested in the business aspect of healthcare and eager to explore the many facets of healthcare management. The program will expose students to Senior Hospital Administration both within and outside of Finance as well as provide them with real-world experience in the corporate world.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Program.
  • Eligible candidates must be a rising senior undergraduate student who graduates in Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027.
  • Must have received the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Nice To Haves

  • Majoring in Accounting, Health/Hospital Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Health.
  • Genuine interest in finance and the business of healthcare.
  • Completion of relevant accounting, healthcare industry, and business-related courses.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Highly inquisitive, focused and proactive.
  • Good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Channel your top-notch reporting and data analysis skills on the financial planning team.
  • Help with business plan monitoring related to clinical service line growth and strategic initiatives for NYP.
  • Understand the clinical aspects to forecasting the financial impact of new business to the hospital.
  • Perform key financial analysis to inform decision makers about the economic viability of clinical programs.
  • Work as a multi-disciplinary group to recognize trends.
  • Present project results to the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Leadership, Project Hosts and their Mentors.
