About The Position

The Education Intern will work in the Learning & Engagement department with a focus on Education programs, gaining hands-on experience in museum education and exploring the impact of arts and cultural programming on society. Working closely with department staff, the intern will contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and resources that support learning, connection, and leadership across communities. The intern will assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of teen and family initiatives, with a particular focus on the Museum’s signature teen program, Expanding the Walls, and family-friendly activities on Studio Sundays. The intern will also conduct research informed by their own interests to support departmental priorities and help strengthen accessible, meaningful tools and methods that address community needs. Additional responsibilities include supporting Studio Museum educators during group visits, participating in team meetings and supporting general departmental tasks. The internship also offers opportunities to support hands-on community programming at events across Harlem. The ideal candidate must have a passion for working with families and youth, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. The Education Internship is designed for undergraduates, graduate students and recent college graduates preparing for careers in Arts Education, Museum Education, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Art History, or related fields.

Responsibilities
