About The Position

Still in school but ready to launch your career? Be among the first to join our Inaugural class of the Early Career Foundations Program! This unique experience is designed to give you hands-on exposure to the financial services industry while allowing you to provide invaluable feedback that will help shape the future of this program. Who should apply? This program is perfect for ambitious Undergraduate Sophomore students studying Human Resources or Related Majors, Finance with an interest in Compensation, or curious about other related HR areas such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and more! If you are also curious about the financial services industry and eager to gain practical experience that goes beyond building a résumé, this role is for you! You’ll develop skills, expand your professional network, and open doors to future opportunities, both during your time in school and after graduation. Program Overview: The Early Career Foundations Program is designed to help you build a strong foundation for your career by offering meaningful experiences tailored to your interests. Duration: Approximately 6 weeks Timing: June 15th – July 24th Availability: Looking for students Studying or Interested in Human Resources related fields The program begins with a comprehensive orientation and training week, introducing you to our organization, our business segments, and equipping you with the technical and practical knowledge needed to succeed. After orientation, you’ll spend the majority of your time working on real business projects and tasks assigned by your manager, aligned with functional and regional business needs. In addition to your daily responsibilities, you’ll: Build networks across the organization Participate in program-specific and company-wide events Gain new skills and experiences that set you up for success in school and beyond The program concludes with a final presentation, where you’ll share your learnings and contributions with business leaders. Upon successful completion of the Foundations Program, you’ll be considered for a return offer to join our formal Huntington National Bank Internship Program the following summer, a 10–12-week internship opportunity designed to accelerate your career as a rising senior. Note: Huntington Intern compensation is reflective of consistently applied factors such as program track, location, and educational level. Why Huntington? Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • Current Sophomore enrolled in an accredited University (Dec 2027 or May 2028 Grad)
  • Willing to work in Detroit, Michigan
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications

  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
