About The Position

As a DevOps Engineer Intern at AV, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced DevOps team to learn and contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of our infrastructure. This hands-on internship will provide you with exposure to a variety of technologies and methodologies used in the industry today. You will gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while contributing to projects that support the operational and business growth objectives of our organization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and working towards a 4-year degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 0 – 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols.
  • Familiarity with containerization (i.e., Docker or Podman)
  • Exposure to programming and/or scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Bash, C++, Rust, or Go.

  • Must be self-motivated!
  • Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, e.g., servers (Occasional)
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard (Frequent)
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of development environments and production infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with software developers to manage releases and deployments.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development and production environments.
  • Participate in automating and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of scripts and tools to support infrastructure and application management.
  • Aid in monitoring system performance and reliability, and assist with implementing new monitoring solutions.
  • Support the integration and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Writing repeatable playbooks and procedures to bring OS/applications up to STIG baselines.
