About The Position

Kroger is looking for current college students who are interested in gaining on-the-job training, mentorship, and real-world experience in their field of choice. The Kroger Summer Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience that offers students an opportunity to grow their careers through a variety of focused internship assignments. Summer 2026 Dates: May 18 - August 7. Our program offers competitive pay, hands-on learning experiences, company exposure to senior leaders, and professional development opportunities. Requirements

• Open to computer science or STEM majors.
• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0.
• Basic understanding of data engineering principles and ETL processes.
• Any experience with relational databases, BI reporting and data discovery tools is preferred (PowerBI, Tableau, SQL Server, Snowflake, MS Azure).
• Exposure to any programming language (Python, Spark, R, etc.).
• Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in groups or independently.
• Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present information to various levels of the organization.
• Ability to analyze and interpret information and apply to business needs.
• Commitment to providing customer service.
• Prior experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
• Help in optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.
• Participate in data cleaning, transformation, and integration tasks.
• Document data processes and contribute to technical documentation.
• Partner with associates on various projects to implement technical and corporate strategies.
• Participate in weekly/monthly department meetings.
• Assist in working on new technology platforms that are revolutionizing the retail industry.
• Participate in intern programs that support technical and leadership development within the organization.
