About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Construction Intern. The right candidate will assist the Construction Manager and Superintendents with the management of all functions of the job site as it relates to home construction, including but not limited to scheduling and supervising job sites. Learn the need for uniformity in construction methods within the company, support company policies and construction standards, suggest improvements within the system, and execute policies to ensure compliance with quality standards. The intern will also be encouraged to explore other areas of interest to learn more about the general operations of the division both within and outside of the assigned department that will be supplemental to the learning experience.

Requirements

  • Must currently be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Seeking a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Manager and Superintendents with job site management.
  • Schedule and supervise job sites.
  • Learn and support company policies and construction standards.
  • Suggest improvements within the construction system.
  • Execute policies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Travel overnight as required.
