About The Position

Baker Tilly is currently seeking a Compliance Internal Audit Intern for 2026. Our interns gain knowledge of the firm's Assurance, Tax and Consulting practices through working with multiple clients across a variety of industries. The Business Consulting Services practice provides comprehensive internal and performance audit services to clients throughout the Western United States. Additionally, we help clients to implement solutions through policy and procedure development, organizational redesign, process improvement, and training. We are a highly collaborative group that is committed to providing superior client service through strong relationships and high-value deliverables. The Compliance Internal Audit Intern will work on a variety of projects that may include grant management, compliance support, and internal audit services primarily for governmental, tribal, and not-for-profit entities.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. Baker Tilly will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B, STEM OPT)
  • Must have completed or be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, with a preference for accounting majors
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to a Baker Tilly office and be willing to work on-site
  • Eligible candidates must have academic courses remaining at the end of the internship; ideally in the third year of a 4-year program, or fourth year of a 5-year program
  • Must have a current, accepted offer with Baker Tilly (formerly Moss Adams)

Nice To Haves

  • Major in Accounting or coursework in technology-related fields highly desirable
  • Master's in Accounting, MBA or MPA preferred
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, including overnight stays, with travel expectations varying by department and office location
  • Flexibility to work overtime or additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Excellent customer service skills; Ability to understand own and others' emotions in order to achieve desired goals
