About The Position

The Intern, Innovation Lab at Ryan is a pivotal role designed for individuals eager to immerse themselves in the intersection of technology and legal/tax reasoning. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside seasoned technologists on innovative projects that cater to Fortune 500 clients. Interns will engage in hands-on training, participate in hackathons, and contribute to ongoing research and development efforts. The culmination of this internship will be a chance to present deliverables to executive leadership, showcasing the skills and insights gained throughout the experience. Interns will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that align with Ryan's Key Results. This includes participating in hackathon activities, where they will creatively solve client challenges alongside internal and external developers. Interns will also engage in discovery sessions with internal clients to identify innovation opportunities and influence product decisions. A significant aspect of the role involves managing client data and implementations throughout the engagement lifecycle, ensuring that all processes are streamlined and effective. Moreover, interns will independently generate, test, and deploy ideas for proofs of concept that align with the strategic mission of the Innovation Lab. They will develop AI, machine learning, and natural language processing models, leveraging their understanding of current technologies and conducting independent literature reviews. Validation and evaluation of machine learning models will be crucial to meet business requirements and expected outcomes, adhering to the firm's standards. Interns are expected to document and translate requirements effectively, connecting them to business processes and potential technology solutions, all while fostering a positive and accountable work environment that reflects Ryan's core values.
