About The Position

The Alcon team is seeking a motivated intern to join the ASPEX QC Chemistry laboratory for a summer internship in Fort Worth, TX. This role focuses on supporting finished product testing and release, utilizing various analytical techniques to ensure high-quality products are delivered to patients. Interns will gain valuable industry experience, network with professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that impact patient care.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects).
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry and/or microbiology.
• Good attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze chemical, biological or microbiological finished product samples or stability samples in support of compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements.
• Interpret and evaluate the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications.
• Recommend and implement corrective action when necessary.
• Responsible for analytical and protocol report writing and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain lab equipment and prepare reagents.
