About The Position

The Summer 2025 Intern - Technical Program Management at Slack is designed for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related fields. This internship offers the opportunity to work on impactful programs within the Data Engineering Organization, collaborating with various teams to enhance data-informed decision-making and productivity across the organization. Interns will engage in real projects that contribute to the company's operations and growth, while also benefiting from mentorship and talent development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science or related fields such as Data Science and Research, Information Management graduating no earlier than December 2025.
  • Must be attending a College or University in North America.
  • Experience using analysis of data sets to solve problems and answer questions.
  • The technical acumen to drive and influence decisions on implementation choices for your programs.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with agile product development practices and principles.
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Experience with SQL and working with data visualization software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excitement around working with stakeholders and across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive impactful programs across multiple functions throughout the organization.
  • Develop and iterate on visibility and alerting programs across Product and Engineering departments.
  • Perform risk management and scope management on your programs.
  • Develop briefs, schedules, and release plans for your programs.
  • Identify decisions required to move your programs forward and ensure decisions are made to unblock progress.
  • Deliver process, tooling, and systems improvements for cross-functional teams with input from partners.
  • Perform analysis on data sets and develop dashboards and reports to answer questions for the business.
  • Drive timely program delivery by effectively communicating progress and proactively identifying and articulating risks.
  • Contribute to the growth of the TPM organization by driving process improvement initiatives together with other TPMs.
