About the position

Noblis is looking for interns for our 2025 Summer Internship Program! Our 2025 Program will be held in a hybrid work environment; participants must be in the local area to travel to an in-person facility for certain projects, meetings, and collaborative assignments. Noblis is offering internship opportunities in our Department of Defense's (DoD) Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program. This position is to work with Noblis to support the DOD DTRA CTR program. CTR works cooperatively with allies and partners to prevent the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and eliminate chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats to U.S., allies, and partners. Previous intern cohorts have provided tangible assistance to assessments, developed client-facing solutions, provided direct support to project managers, and gained a deeper understanding of the CTR mission.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Noblis Summer Internship Program.
  • Support the DOD DTRA CTR program.
  • Assist in assessments and develop client-facing solutions.
  • Provide direct support to project managers.

Requirements

  • A GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • US Citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
  • Be a rising undergraduate senior or current Masters student, with a focus on relevant topics areas (e.g., biodefense, nonproliferation, international security, policy, international relations, etc.).
  • Ability to relocate to the DC metro area and access on-site facility as needed.
  • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interest or skill in life and chemical/biological sciences.
  • Knowledge of nonproliferation/counterproliferation.
  • Familiarity with biological/chemical threats of natural, accidental, or deliberate origin.
  • Interest in international security or international relations.
  • Experience in policy analysis and legislative affairs (e.g., MPP/MPA).
  • Understanding of nation-state-level and regional WMD threats.
  • Knowledge of arms control and nonproliferation agreements approaches and objectives.
  • Skills in computer science.
