How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own Our Estimation Associate summer intern will work on a range of projects that ideally align with their interests. Projects and daily work include AI builds/testing (Generative and Agentic), Data Analytics and Metrics Ingestion and Analysis, scripting and automation builds/testing, and AI / labor modeling and tools. You’ll collect metrics, data, analyze the data, and provide data analysis reporting and clean data ready for ingestion, and use your scripting/coding skills and AI tools to build and test automated workflows and models. This also includes exploring vibe coding concepts, ensuring these approaches contribute to enhancing innovative AI/IT solutions. Your work will provide insights to help guide labor estimates and decision-making, statistical modeling and includes involvement in technical IT discussions, working with our CTO / technology teams as we tackle large Enterprise IT challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to be part of the team as we continue to apply the power and efficiency of AI tools to our IT labor estimation processes and opportunities, bringing more to our customers’ missions every day. The ideal intern will have strong attention to detail, knowledge/experience with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, etc.), training/application of data analytics , familiarity with both Generative AI and Agentic AI, understanding of vibe coding principles, solid Excel foundation, scripting language training, and a PASSION for IT Technology and desire or interest to support IT technology data analysis and IT Labor Estimation. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field from a United States-based college or university.
  • Use/understanding of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams)
  • Experience with or knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, vibe coding, and familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, etc.) and their applications in IT processes.
  • Attention to Detail, Creative Problem solving and interest in large complex IT program delivery (AI / ML, data centers, Cybersecurity, etc.) supporting federal customers
  • Familiarity with both Generative and Agentic AI frameworks and applications.
  • Knowledge or interest in exploring vibe coding and its relevance in AI-driven IT solutions.
  • Experience using or building with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, etc.)
  • Strong interest in IT technology – large complex Enterprise IT solutions (AI, data, data centers, cloud, networks, quantum, etc.)
  • Interest in or experience with: data analysis, metrics and business/finance
  • Good experience with MS Excel
  • Interest in learning/doing estimation, risk analysis and parametric models
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques
  • Knowledge of Python, Powershell or similar or other basic coding capability
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Intuitiveness with an ability to identify and solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
  • GDIT interns are paid and full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of one semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
