About The Position

Perform subsurface utility investigations using ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques. Accurately locate and identify underground utilities, such as gas, electric, water, and telecommunications lines. Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other field staff to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation practices. Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and industry standards. Assist with the preparation of reports, deliverables, and field notes. Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and functional condition.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
  • Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
