About The Position

AECOM offers a comprehensive suite of subsurface utility engineering (SUE), private utility locating and services to its diverse customer base composed of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, and other Construction, and Infrastructure. We are seeking a SUE Site Survey Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career with an internationally-known infrastructure consulting firm. Utilize advanced geophysical equipment, observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate (vacuum excavation) utilities within a requested job scope in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22. Utilize existing troubleshooting skills and learn new procedures and technologies.

Requirements

• BS Degree + 2 years of related experience or AS Degree + 4 years of related experience or HS/GED + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• SUE, private locating and/or surveying experience.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

• Experience and understanding of SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
• Detail-oriented with a professional and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced geophysical equipment to identify and locate utilities.
• Perform vacuum excavation in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
• Travel frequently to field locations, including overnight travel.
• Lift equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Work outdoors in various seasonal weather conditions.
• Walk several miles daily across uneven terrains.
