We are currently seeking a SUE Field Technician in our Manassas, VA office. As a SUE Field Technician, you will be responsible for providing SUE assistance under leadership from a Crew Chief or Office Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Work to gain knowledge of typical SUE marking techniques.
  • Interest in modern SUE equipment, devices, and methods.
  • Problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.
  • Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred.
  • Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field work for SUE location scopes of work using appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate underground utility layouts and perform routine computations for various project types.
  • Operation and assistance of operation of SUE equipment, data collection and other location equipment.
  • Transfer files between data collection and internal company project folders.
  • Quality checks and processing of field data.
  • Download, maintain, and verify accuracy of project data, reports, and managing database.
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.
  • Operate a company vehicle.
  • Observe safety and security procedures.
