Requirements

• Ability to perform physical movements and tractions, commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment (50 lbs).
• Possess basic computer skills and able to learn and understand new software.
• Ability to operate surveying instruments, GPS, all-terrain vehicles, and other equipment necessary to obtain survey data.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5+ years of familiarity locating all utilities using traditional means like electromagnetic locating.
• Experience using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and/or interpreting results.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for communicating with the Project Manager, project team, and client field representative.
• Selects and applies appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate underground utility layouts.
• Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities.
• Complete documentation, which includes record keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately.
• Communicate and coordinate with utility company representative.
• Represent and communicate on behalf of WSB when encountering third parties in the field.
• Complete daily job safety analysis forms.
• Inspect assigned equipment to ensure proper working conditions prior to use.
• Identify and report any equipment failure on work order maintenance form.
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Report incidents to the appropriate personnel and complete incident report as required.
• Monitor work conditions and responsibly use stop work authority.
