About The Position

The Recovery Therapist will provide SUD treatment services including assessments, individual, group and family therapy in the SUD Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programs. The Recovery Therapist will be working within the context of a team to provide mental health and/or substance abuse counseling services to clients that meet medical necessity. The Recovery Therapist works collaboratively with the team to assess and link the client and families to needed community services and coordinates all the services that the client receives. The Recovery Therapist documents all services according to Department of Mental Health, Department of Health Care Services Alcohol and other drug standards (AOD), Department of Public Health Substance Abuse Prevention Control (SAPC), Joint Commission, and Penny Lane guidelines. The Recovery Therapist is an energetic self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and County representatives. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision. The individual in this position must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, provide timely responses to requests and deadlines and works well under pressure.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in related field.
  • Must be registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology.
  • Clinical experience and/or training in substance use disorders, working in a drug treatment facility or mental health clinic preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish Required (verbal and written skillset).
  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.
