About The Position

The Outreach Specialists will serve as Student Success Coaches for the Rising Phoenix Early College High School Program, an innovative program providing cohorts of students in partner schools the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree along with their high school diploma. The Student Success Coaches work closely with school district staff and provide academic advising and social and emotional support for high school students enrolled in the Rising Phoenix program. The Student Success Coaches manage the orientation to college process, provide intensive support, academic advising and major/career exploration, maintain students’ records, and work with the schools to establish the alignment between UW-Green Bay courses and high school courses. The Student Success Coaches will provide services that support the University’s mission and goals regarding equity, diversity, and inclusion. These positions report to the Rising Phoenix Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, human services, or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in K-12 schools, college or university, or other educational organizations
  • Demonstrated development and organization of innovative programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, self-prioritize and remain flexible to shifting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with the ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software/applications

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience in higher education and student affairs
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Bilingual, preferably in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting institutional efforts to create a diverse and inclusive community
  • Experience working with diverse underrepresented and first-generation students

Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of Rising Phoenix student services, programming, policies, and procedure and provides the day-to-day support for students
  • May assist with the monitoring of Rising Phoenix budget spending
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Delivers Rising Phoenix information and materials to students and school district staff
  • Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of the Rising Phoenix Program
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
