About The Position

The Success Coach/Dual Enrollment Coordinator at Drake State Community & Technical College is responsible for coordinating recruitment, outreach, and registration processes for the dual enrollment program. This role also involves serving as a Success Coach for identified students, educating various stakeholders about college career programs, and fostering relationships with local high schools and the business community to support student enrollment and success in postsecondary education.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college.
• Experience in Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources Services, Psychology, Education, or related human service degree.
• Experience working with low income, high risk, or under-represented students.
• Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with students and the public.
• Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and database programs.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college.
• Minimum of 2 years' work experience in Student Affairs at an institution of higher learning.
• Experience with Banner and Degree Works.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the recruitment, outreach, and registration processes for the dual enrollment program.
• Serve as the Success Coach for identified students in Madison County and Huntsville City.
• Educate students, parents, counselors, teachers, and administrators about college career programs.
• Develop and nurture relationships with local high school representatives and business community leaders.
• Promote and recruit students for dual enrollment at service area schools.
• Coordinate the Dual Enrollment program and the Success Coach Program.
• Represent and promote the dual enrollment program in designated high schools.
• Develop strategies to convert dual enrollment students to first-time freshmen at Drake State.
• Provide career exploration and planning services to identified high school students.
• Assist students with assessment, resume preparation, financial aid guidance, and college admission applications.
• Conduct classroom presentations and one-on-one sessions in area high schools and career centers.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with agencies affiliated with North AlabamaWorks and Region One.
• Schedule and host business, industry, and college tours for high school students.
• Evaluate program outcomes and develop plans for necessary improvements.
• Engage in professional development and monitor enrollment processes at the College.
• Conduct orientation sessions for teachers regarding the dual enrollment program.
• Disseminate information about available dual credit classes prior to registration periods.
• Coordinate Drake State registrations at high schools and assist with the registration processes.
• Maintain proper files on dual enrollment and Success Coach students.
• Assist with processing admissions applications for dual enrollment students.
• Participate in recruiting activities, campus tours, and New Student Orientation.
• Ensure accurate communication in College publications about dual enrollment and the Success Coach Program.
• Develop recruitment literature for dual enrollment and Success Coach programs.
