Requirements

• High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
• Experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus
• Basic computer skills; Ability to learn and understand new software.
• Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
• Ability to travel (if needed)
• Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
• Knowledge of equipment; Ability to set up for various types of work situations
• Must be able to pass Military / Government Background checks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications
• Provide underground utility flagging 'designation' with proficiency, utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnet equipment and other geophysical means.
• Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect excavation of a site
• Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client.
• Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment or 'hand dig' to verify utility characteristics.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles/trucks, equipment, and work sites.
• Research all utilities that may be on a site prior to entering the site.
• Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety practices
