About The Position

Substitutes are needed throughout the year for various positions including classrooms, office staff, and Child Nutrition Services. You can work when you want, providing flexibility in your schedule. All prospective employees, including substitutes, of the La Vega Independent School District are required to submit fingerprints. After applying, you will receive information to schedule your fingerprints, which you must complete at your own expense. If you have already been fingerprinted, you will not need to complete this process again.

Requirements

• Must submit fingerprints as part of the application process.
• Complete mandatory substitute training unless exempted (retired certified teachers or paraprofessionals with recent experience).
• High school diploma or GED for substitute teaching positions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a certified teacher or paraprofessional in a school district within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work as a substitute in various positions including classrooms, office staff, and Child Nutrition Services.
• Complete mandatory training through Region 12 Education Service Center or Region 4 Education Center to work as a substitute.
• Complete fingerprinting as required by the La Vega Independent School District.
