About The Position

All schools need a pool of substitutes to call when staff are out. Substitutes in the classroom are responsible for the safety and work flow of the classroom. Classroom or child work experience is always welcome. At our school, we treat children with respect and foster independence by working with them out doing everything for them. A classroom substitute may work with any grade 1st-8th in our multi-level classrooms. Lower elementary consists of 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Upper elementary consists of 4th, 5th, 6th. Our adolescent community is comprised of 7th and 8th grade. Office substitutes must have great people skills, phone skills, and work well even when interrupted.

Requirements

• Classroom or child work experience is preferred.
• Great people skills and phone skills for office substitutes.
• Ability to work well even when interrupted.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and workflow of the classroom when substituting for teachers.
• Work with students across grades 1-8 in multi-level classrooms.
• Maintain the entry and exits of non-campus staff as an office substitute.
• Monitor children and track breaks in the courtyard.
• Dispense medication as directed on forms.
• Field questions from prospective and current families.
