About The Position

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is seeking applicants for substitute teaching positions. This position will remain open throughout the school year. Selected candidates will be invited via email to attend a substitute orientation, with specific details provided in the email. Orientations are held monthly.

Requirements

• A valid and current qualifying document issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit.
• Prospective Teaching Permit (only if applicant is a current NMUSD Student Teacher).
• CA Teaching Credential (Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist Instruction, or CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential).
• 2 Letters of Recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Implement lesson plans as directed by the regular teacher.
