About The Position

The position involves teaching or substituting in the Eastmont School District, requiring a valid Washington State teaching certificate or substitute teaching certificate. The role includes guiding the learning process towards achieving curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, and communicating these objectives to students. The teacher will report to the building principal and office manager upon arrival and is expected to maintain established routines and procedures in the classroom. Requirements

  • Possess or qualify for a valid Washington State teaching certificate or substitute teaching certificate
  • Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate or substitute teaching certificate
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
  • Communicate objectives to students
  • Report to the building principal and office manager upon arrival at the school
  • Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom
  • Teach lesson plans as outlined by the absent teacher
  • Perform all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the building principal
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times
  • Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students and materials
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy
  • Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life
  • Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order
  • Continuously strive to improve professional competence and collaboration
  • Become acquainted with parents and report unusual occurrences to the principal
  • Remain at school during the entire school day unless excused
  • Implement all rules and regulations as adopted by the Eastmont School Board
  • Maintain a professional appearance as an example for students
  • Demonstrate knowledge and incorporate technology in daily tasks
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Adhere to the professional code of conduct as outlined by OSPI
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Principal or Superintendent
  • Use necessary instructional methods, techniques, and materials.
