About The Position
Provide instruction and manage a classroom in the regular teacher's absence, following provided lesson plans, managing student behavior, taking attendance, and ensuring a safe learning environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. Requirements
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- No professional work experience required
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE)substitute authorization or teaching license
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic classroom management and planning skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
- Ability and desire to work as a team member
- Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity

- Previous successful teaching experience
- Experience working in the public sector

Responsibilities
- Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations.
- Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
