About The Position
The Custer YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team and support our preschool, infant/toddler classrooms, and Kidstop afterschool program. The YMCA is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our preschool classrooms provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children to thrive. As a Substitute Teacher at the YMCA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continued care and education of children in the absence of regular classroom teachers. You will implement lesson plans, engage with children in educational and recreational activities, and create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes learning and development. In this role, you will follow lesson plans and daily schedules provided by the regular classroom teacher. Your responsibilities will include engaging children in age-appropriate educational activities, play, and creative projects, while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional growth of each child, and communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents. Adherence to all YMCA policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements is essential. This position offers a flexible, on-call work schedule, making it ideal for those seeking part-time work or those with varying availability.
