About The Position

The Washington Unified School District is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to fill the role of Substitute Teacher. This position is available for both part-time and full-time opportunities, offering a competitive daily rate of $200. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage students effectively. You will be expected to follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher and ensure that students remain on task and engaged in their learning activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing classroom behavior and fostering a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid teaching credential or a 30 Day Substitute Permit. If you do not currently hold a credential or permit, the Human Resources department is available to assist you with the application process. It is important that references include full names, phone numbers, and email addresses for verification purposes. Potential employees must also complete a live scan for background checks, which is a requirement of the Washington Unified School District. The cost of the live scan is the responsibility of the applicant. Additionally, a tuberculosis (TB) clearance dated within the last 60 days is required. Once your application is screened and references are verified, you will receive a live scan form to take to an authorized service provider for completion.
