About The Position
Chelten Child Development Center is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers for our Toddler and Preschool classrooms. This role is essential to our educational team, providing support and care for young children in a nurturing environment. Substitute Teachers will have the opportunity to engage with children, guiding them in their play and learning activities while supporting the lead teacher in daily classroom operations. This position is ideal for retired educators looking to re-enter the classroom or college students pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. The shifts are flexible, allowing for a range of hours from 2 to 8 hours per day, making it a perfect fit for those seeking part-time or full-time work. The responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher include caring for children, facilitating play, assisting with educational activities, and performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and have a genuine love for working with children. Experience in childcare is required, as it is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in our care.
