About The Position

Ledyard Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Elementary Math Interventionist beginning in January 2026 and continuing through the end of the 25-26 School Year (based on the needs of the district). The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the School Administrator and MTSS Coordinator to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Connecticut Certification Endorsement 013, 305 or 005

Responsibilities

  • Work in the interest of the students' physical and emotional welfare and to embrace a growth mindset
  • Establish instructional programming and provide direct instruction to students who are in a tiered intervention
  • Provide coaching for classroom teachers which directly aligns to district initiatives and goals
  • Collect/analyze both formative and summative data for purposes of planning instruction
  • Effectively consult and collaborate with school personnel, parents/families, and other professionals regarding student placement, materials, and instruction
  • Maintain contact with parents, school personnel as needed to evaluate students' academic and social growth
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of people, including students, their parents and staff
  • Continue to acquire professional knowledge of current theory, research and best practices in mathematics by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
  • Supervise and provide training for support staff to include paraprofessionals
  • Participate in the MTSS process and evaluate referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic procedures

Benefits

  • The daily rate for substitute teachers is $130
  • The daily rate for long term substitute teachers with certification is $278.61 beyond the 40th consecutive day worked in the same assignment
