About The Position
The Substitute Teacher position at SLO Classical Academy is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to the success of students. As a substitute teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education when regular teachers are absent, whether due to planned or unplanned circumstances. This role requires you to effectively carry out lesson plans and ensure that students have a fulfilling classroom experience across all grade levels, from kindergarten through high school. The ideal candidates will possess prior substitute teaching experience and demonstrate the ability to lead a classroom in an orderly and engaging manner. Successful substitutes can expect consistent work opportunities throughout the district, contributing to a stable learning environment for students. In this role, you will be responsible for providing quality instruction that aligns with SLOCA's educational guidelines and objectives. You will ensure that no student falls behind in the curriculum during the absence of their regular teacher, thereby upholding the integrity of the educational process. The position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff. You will also be expected to take roll call at the beginning of each class and mark attendance accordingly. This position is part-time, with expected hours ranging from 6 to 24 hours per week, and operates on a day shift schedule, requiring availability on an on-call basis.
