About The Position

The Saugus Union School District is seeking an Elementary Classroom Teacher who will be primarily responsible for the academic, social, and psychological growth of students in the classroom, along with other related duties. The teacher will report directly to the Building Principal.

Requirements

  • Valid California Teaching Credential with elementary authorizations.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
  • Passage of CA Basic Skills Documentation: CBEST, CSET, SAT, ACT, or college coursework.

Nice To Haves

  • Eligibility for a 30-Day Substitute Permit.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, assess, instruct, guide, and counsel students.
  • Refer students for placement in special programs.
  • Utilize the services of special education personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain professional standards and skills to provide a good classroom and school climate.
  • Attempt to meet the individual needs of the students.
  • Cooperate in establishing, supervising, and maintaining school standards and safety practices.
  • Improve own professional skills and keep informed through professional organizations.
  • Create and present a good image and work toward upgrading educational standards.
  • Participate in professional and educationally related activities.
