Substitute Teacher English Speaker
About The Position
Implement the curriculum, keeping accurate records, working cooperatively with their grade-level team and adapting materials to the French immersion theme. Teachers are responsible for managing behavior and maintaining a positive classroom climate. Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion school and have a deep enough command of French, English, and their content area to adapt instruction to students’ interests and needs. Instructors will be recruited from a variety of French-speaking countries to represent the broad reach of the French language around the world. International candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree. Status of Position This is an on-call as needed position with Académie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.
Requirements
- Hold or be eligible for Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate
- Proven experience as a teacher; international candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment
- The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines
- Ability to integrate technology into the classroom
