About the position
The Teacher position at Elk Grove Unified School District involves planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing a classroom instructional program under the direction of a site principal or other appropriate administrator. Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, monitor, and assess a classroom instructional program consistent with District and Board goals.
- Teach various subjects to pupils utilizing the adopted course of study.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified by state law.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other staff to address health and learning problems.
- Participate in curricular and extra-curricular school programs and meetings.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding instructional goals and student progress.
- Develop and communicate curricular and instructional plans to students and parents.
- Assess student progress and communicate results to parents.
- Represent the District and assigned school to local and State groups.
- Provide instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEPs.
- Maintain records regarding students and prepare reports as directed.
- Develop lesson plans in accordance with site and District policy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, including courses needed to meet credential requirements.
- Student teaching classroom experience.
- Valid California Teaching Credential.
