Requirements

• Must complete a substitute application through the district's online application system.
• Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
• Must provide verification of legal right to work in the United States.
• Must hold or be eligible to hold certification for the position in the State of Texas.
• Must provide official transcript(s) and service record if applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Previous experience as a substitute teacher.

Responsibilities

• Complete a substitute application through the district's online application system.
• Submit to background check and fingerprinting as required by Senate Bill 9.
• Attend one in-person training session (EMS ISD Retired Teachers are exempt).

• Bi-weekly payroll schedule.

• Fingerprint cost reimbursement after 10 days worked.
• $200 bonus payment after working 45 days, 90 days, and again at 135 days per school year.
• Substitutes who recruit new subs who work for EMS ISD are paid $50.
