Supervise: Monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and playgrounds. Classroom Management: Help manage behavior with positive strategies. Prep Materials: Assist with setting up projects, demonstrations, and displays. Use Your Skills: Share your talents in areas like foreign language, arts, music, and more to assist lead teacher in instruction. Tech Savvy: Be ready to use or learn basic computer skills. Community Engagement: Ride the school bus and support students during field trips and vocational training. Personal Care: Assist students with disabilities with personal care and mobility, including personalized support to students with special needs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment. Clerical Duties: Help with record keeping and general tasks as directed. Team Collaboration: Use your strong interpersonal skills to work as a team and support a diverse student population.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year working with children, in education, or with people with disabilities OR 30 college credit hours.
  • Background Check: Must pass a NYS Education Department background screen.
  • Physical Ability: Able to perform all duties required.
