Join InspireNOLA. #InspireNOLA #defytheodds #joinInspireNOLA Position Summary InspireNOLA Charter Schools is seeking passionate, talented, and dedicated part-time substitute teachers.The part-time substitute teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage for a teacher who is absent. The part-time substitute teacher works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence. We are pursuing candidates who are committed to the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of our students.

  • Teaches content and skills in subject area utilizing designated curriculum.
  • Execute lesson plans and supplementary materials provided upon arrival.
  • Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
  • Prepares report cards, keeps appropriate and accurate records to include attendance reports, interims, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary under the supervision of the administrative team.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students.
  • Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
  • Exemplify InspireNOLA’s core values in all interactions with students and their families to demonstrate your commitment to students’ academic and behavioral success.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Possess familiarity with content area and strong classroom management skills;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school team, families and community members;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to help our students reach excellence
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
  • Two or more years of teaching experience (preferred); No certification is required but preference is given to those eligible for, or in possession of, appropriate Louisiana teaching certificate in the subject.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
