Under general direction of the Director of Special Education, the position involves diagnosing the needs of gifted and learning handicapped children, as well as children experiencing emotionally related problems. The role includes aiding in the development of individual education plans to enable students with diagnosed educational needs to attain maximum achievement and adjustment. The psychologist will occasionally counsel students, both individually and in groups, using a variety of techniques to support personal, social, and emotional adjustments. Additionally, the position requires providing counsel and support related to the delivery of psychological services and performing other related functions as required.
