About The Position
Francis W. Parker School, a prestigious JK-12th grade independent day school located in Chicago, is seeking an experienced Substitute School Nurse to join our team. This role is essential in providing support for the health and well-being of our students, ensuring they can thrive both physically and emotionally. The Substitute School Nurse will cover planned and occasional same-day absences, attending to the daily health needs of students and managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and seizure disorders. The nurse will also be responsible for administering daily medications, providing first aid and emergency care, and consulting with students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding health concerns. In this position, the nurse will maintain and update medical records, report health statuses that may impact a child's school experience, and ensure compliance with health policies and guidelines at various levels. The role requires staying informed about new health policies and making recommendations for health and safety practices within the school environment. The Substitute School Nurse will work collaboratively with the school community to foster a safe and healthy environment for all students. This part-time position offers a pay rate of $30 per hour and is not eligible for benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the school's mission of educating students to think and act with empathy, courage, and clarity as responsible citizens in a diverse society.
