Helping People. Saving Lives. CAPSLO's Adult Day Center is looking for a Substitute Program Aide! As a Program Aid you will support our Site Supervisor and staff in providing exceptional care and engaging activities for our senior clients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for those in our care. Requirements

  • For Level I: Has a High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • For Level II: Has 1-2 years of experience in a social, recreational, or health care program, or 2 years of college education in a related field.
  • For Level III: Is certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities that promote recreation, exercise, socialization, nutrition, and education.
  • Greet and orient clients, ensuring accurate records of their schedules and needs.
  • Assist clients with mobility aids and transfers, ensuring their safety.
  • Prepare and serve meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness per ServSafe protocols.
  • Provide personal care, including medication reminders, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Communicate changes in client status to the Site Supervisor and Program Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe facility, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, clients, volunteers, and family caregivers.
  • Open and close the premises as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding potential exposure to bodily fluids or blood-borne pathogens.
