Substitute per diem Bus (Van) Driver
About The Position
Coventry Public Schools is seeking to hire substitute per diem van/bus drivers for the 25/26 school year. This position requires all staff to communicate directly with students and other staff in English for safety and instructions. In this role, employees will be operating a van over designated routes and transporting Coventry School Students back and forth from home to school. Drivers will do a pre and post inspection of the vehicle daily. Drivers will fuel and maintain cleanliness of the inside of the vehicle. Attend and participate in safety meetings as needed. Provide a letter of support to the DMV for employees Arrange for a physical at predetermined location to obtain the DOT Medical Certification card Arrange for the employee to take the written test at the DMV Provide the employee with the written test manual and practice test Provide the vehicle GU1338 insurance document Provide vehicles that have passed the state required safety inspection Reimburse employee for all fees related to securing the required license
Requirements
- Communicate directly with students and other staff in English for safety and instructions
- 21 years old
- Active driver’s license for 3 years
- Clean driving record for 3 years
- Medical Certification card (Renewed Annually or if 65 and older every 6 months )
