JDE: 5.62 Substitute Nutrition Services Purpose Statement The position of Substitute Nutrition Services is assigned to a specific kitchen or serving area by the food service supervisor and is supervised by the manager in the kitchen or designated cook at the transport school. A Substitute Nutrition Services worker is required to perform general kitchen work and may assist with cooking.

Responsibilities
- Reports for work with appropriate uniform (clean white top, slacks or skirt, vinyl shoes with safe soles, and same dress code as for regular employees) at assigned time and place.
- Reports to manager or designated cook for job assignment.
- Works as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible being sure to ask questions if unsure about something.
- Performs other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
