About The Position

The position of Substitute Nurse/Nurse Assistant at Sycamore Community Schools involves performing essential duties related to health care management, health education, and community mediation. The individual must be a Registered Nurse and is expected to follow the policies and procedures of the school health care program while skillfully performing the duties of the school nurse. The role requires establishing and maintaining a healthy school environment and appropriately using health assessment activities. Additionally, the nurse will provide health education to students, staff, and parents, as well as health counseling and wellness programs for school staff. The nurse acts as a liaison between home, school, and community, ensuring that students are ready and able to learn. Professional growth, effective communication, and maintaining a professional demeanor are also key responsibilities.
