About The Position

This is a position for a mental health substitute with a Counseling or Social Work PPS or BBS licensure to provide full-time support in a Folsom elementary school. This position will provide individual and group counseling, support with students struggling with behavior challenges, and whole class lessons on social emotional learning topics. This position serves as a member of school-based teams and will work with families to connect them with outside services. Job Announcement -> Mental Health Specialist I Provide mental health services for individuals and families including counseling, consultation, mental health evaluations, case management, and other duties as required. Assist with program planning, assessment, feedback, supervision, mentoring, report writing, and contract administration. Mental health services may be provided at various sites within the district and surrounding community.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four (4)years of experience working in a school setting (preferred) or related experience working with individuals aged 3 – 21 or working with schools
  • A master's degree from an accredited university or college in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education, or related field.
  • Licensed to act independently in the State of California to provide mental health services (LMFT, LCSW, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist).
  • As described by the state licensing board, be actively qualified to supervise interns and associates. (MFT, MSW, LCP).
  • DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
  • TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
  • Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
