The SDCOE is recruiting to add to the substitute pool of Instructional Aide - Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education in North County, and Davila Day School in Chula Vista, CA. The North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) is made up of fourteen school districts in the north coastal area of San Diego County. The NCCSE is a dynamic, regional, collaborative special education local planning area whose purpose is to support local school districts as they provide for the needs of special education students. The NCCSE coordinates special education programs and special education student placements for over 12,000 students from birth through age 21. Davila Day School, Chula Vista, South County serves deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students, from preschool through sixth grade. The mission of the school is to provide Deaf and hard-of-hearing students a comprehensive, fully accessible and language-rich learning environment, with equal access to the general education curriculum and standards. Under general supervision of an itinerant teacher, a Substitute Instructional Aide DHH provides specialized tutorial assistance to deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) students mainstreamed into regular classes; assists deaf and hard of hearing students in the development of communication skills; performs a variety of routine clerical duties for the deaf and hard of hearing instructional program.
