JOB SUMMARY
The Substitute Library Assistant provides patron service on an as-needed basis across library branches, working a variable schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and short-notice shifts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of standard computer software and library systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and good task prioritization.
• Accurate data entry and filing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills.
• Experience working with people from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
• Cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, efficient customer service to patrons at public service desks and by phone.
• Support daily library operations by providing desk coverage, performing opening and closing duties, and assisting colleagues as needed.
• Apply library policies, procedures, and service standards consistently while maintaining patron confidentiality in compliance with Wyoming state law.
• Monitor patron behavior and respond appropriately in accordance with the Library Rules.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
