Substitute Instructional Aide, Alternative Education

About the position

This is an on-call/temporary position that requires the ability to work in a classroom environment with high-risk students. The role involves various physical activities and may expose the individual to volatile and assaultive behavior. Applicants must be prepared to meet specific educational and certification requirements.

Requirements

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Additional specialized training in child development, education, or a related field is desirable.
• Some experience in working with high-risk students is desirable.
• Ability to work in a classroom environment with the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, reach, and lift 25 lbs.
• Exposure to volatile and assaultive behavior; exposure to outdoors.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR and first aid certificates.
